What we believe
Plainly, and without the jargon.
You should be able to find out what a church believes before you walk in, not after. So here it is, in ordinary words.
Scripture
The Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. It reveals who God is, shows us our need for salvation, points us to Jesus Christ, and teaches us how to live in faith and obedience.
Scripture is not only something we read at church. God uses His living Word to shape our hearts, renew our minds, correct our steps, and guide us each day.
God
There is one true and living God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He made all things, rules over all things, and is perfectly holy, wise, loving, and good. Nothing is outside His sovereign care.
You were fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. Yet all of us are born with a sinful nature and need to be forgiven and made right with God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is God the Son who became truly human. He lived without sin, died on the cross for sinners, and rose bodily from the grave. He is the only Savior and the rightful King of all.
The Holy Spirit shows us our need for forgiveness and opens our eyes to the complete and sufficient sacrifice of Jesus. Because Jesus gave His life for us, we can turn from sin, trust Him, and receive forgiveness and new life.
People
Every person is made in the image of God and has real dignity, value, and purpose. But sin has separated us from God, corrupted our hearts, and brought guilt, suffering, and death. We cannot repair this separation ourselves.
We are more deeply broken than we want to admit, but we are not beyond the reach of God’s grace. Our worth is found in the God who made us, and our hope is found in the Savior who came for us.
Salvation
God saves sinners by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. We are made right with God because of what Christ has done, not because of anything we have earned. God calls us to repent of sin, trust Christ, and follow Him.
You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus. Come honestly, turn from your sin, and trust the Savior who is able to save completely.
The Church
The church is the family of people Christ has rescued. We gather to worship God, hear His Word, pray, care for one another, and carry the good news of Jesus into the world. Christians need one another to grow, endure, and serve faithfully.
Faith was never meant to be lived alone. God places us among His people so we can be encouraged, corrected, strengthened, and reminded of His grace.
Baptism and Communion
Baptism is the outward sign of belonging to Christ and identifies believers with His death and resurrection. Communion helps Christ’s people remember His sacrifice, receive His promises by faith, and proclaim His death until He returns.
Baptism declares that our old life is gone and that we now belong to Christ. Communion regularly brings us back to the cross, where our forgiveness was purchased.
What Comes Next
Jesus will return personally and visibly. The dead will be raised, evil will be judged, and Christ will make all things new. God will remain faithful to every promise He has made, including His purposes for Israel. Everyone who belongs to Christ will live with Him forever.
History is not moving toward chaos but toward the return of the King. For those who belong to Jesus, the future is not something to fear. It is something to hope for.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
