You are welcome here, exactly as you are.

We are a small church in Carthage, North Carolina. If you are curious about God, or worn out, or just wondering whether you would fit — you would.

What to expect

Walking into a church you have never been to is genuinely uncomfortable. So here is everything, ahead of time, so nothing catches you off guard.

  • What should I wear?

Casual. Wear whatever you are comfortable in — you will not be out of place, and nobody here is checking.

  • Will I be singled out?

No. We will not make you stand up, introduce yourself, or fill anything out. You can sit in the back and leave right after, and that is completely fine.

  • What about my kids?

There is a kids program at 9:45 and a nursery for the littlest ones. At 11 we worship together as families — children stay in the service, and they get their own bulletin with the day’s story, questions, and space to draw.

  • What actually happens?

Small groups meet at 9:45 for study. At 11 there is prayer, praise and worship, encouragement, and teaching from God’s Word. We are usually out of the building by noon.

  • Am I expected to give money?

No. If you are visiting, giving is not for you. Nobody will hand you anything or watch to see what you do.

  • How do I get in touch first?

You can send a question before you ever show up, and Pastor Jim will answer it himself.

“Service begins when you leave, because you are the hands and feet of God.”

How we close, every week.

New to all of this?

If you have never read the Bible, or tried and bounced off it, there is a short place to begin — one passage, plain language, and room to ask anything. About ten minutes. No account, no cost, no one will call you.

What we believe

Plainly, and without the jargon

We think you deserve to know what a church actually believes before you walk in, not after.
